Breakup Recovery

Breakup Counselling in Punjab

Breakup counselling is structured, private support for the period after a relationship ends — processing the grief, understanding what happened, breaking the contact-and-checking cycle, and rebuilding a sense of self that does not depend on the other person. Sessions are online and fully confidential.

Online sessions across Punjab and India · Available in English, Punjabi, Hindi

A breakup is not only the loss of a person. It is the loss of a routine, a future you had already planned, and often a version of yourself you liked. That is why it hurts out of proportion to how long the relationship lasted, and why 'just move on' is useless advice.

In Punjab there is an extra layer: many people cannot talk about a breakup at home at all. The relationship may have been private, or ending it may carry family consequences. Counselling gives you the one place where the whole story can be said out loud.

Who this is for

  • Anyone in the first raw weeks after a relationship ended
  • People stuck months later, still checking their ex's profile every day
  • Those whose relationship ended because of family or caste pressure
  • People carrying a breakup they have never told anyone about
  • Anyone who has started avoiding friends, work or food since it ended

What we work through

The overthinking loop

Replaying the last conversation, rewriting it, searching for the moment it went wrong. We work on interrupting the loop rather than resolving it.

Contact and relapse

The checking, the drafted messages, the 3 a.m. call. We build a plan for the specific moments you are most likely to break.

Self-blame

Separating what was genuinely yours to own from what you have absorbed because there was no one else to blame.

Rebuilding identity

Rediscovering interests, routines and friendships that were quietly folded into the relationship.

How breakup counselling works

  1. 1. Tell it once, fully

The first session is for the entire story without editing it for anyone's comfort.

  2. 2. Stabilise

Practical work on sleep, contact rules and the hours of the day that are hardest.

  3. 3. Understand

Looking honestly at the relationship pattern — not to assign blame, but so it is not repeated.

  4. 4. Rebuild

Rebuilding routine, confidence and a life that is yours again.

What you can realistically expect

Grief has its own timeline and no session can shorten it to order. What counselling changes is whether you go through it alone and whether you come out of it with insight or just scar tissue.

  • A place to say things you cannot say at home
  • Concrete strategies for the hardest hours of the day
  • A clearer read on the relationship without cruelty toward yourself
  • Gradual, uneven improvement — good weeks followed by hard ones is normal

Frequently asked questions

How soon after a breakup should I start counselling?
There is no required waiting period. Some people come within days because the first week is unbearable; others come a year later because the feeling never lifted. Both are valid starting points.
Will you tell me to get back together or stay apart?
No. That decision is yours and I will not make it for you. My work is to help you see the situation clearly enough that whichever choice you make is genuinely yours.
My family does not know about the relationship. Is this private?
Everything discussed in a session stays private. Notes are minimal, never shared, and nothing is disclosed to family members or employers. The only exception is a situation involving immediate risk to life, which is handled in line with responsible practice.
Can I do breakup counselling in Punjabi?
Yes. Sessions are available in Punjabi, Hindi and English, and most people find it easier to describe emotion in their first language.
Is this therapy?
No. This is non-clinical counselling and coaching support. If you are experiencing symptoms that need clinical care — such as persistent hopelessness or thoughts of self-harm — the right step is a qualified mental-health professional, and I will help you identify one.
